1985 honda 200x engine question

hey guys, when the engine is running not under a load or anything it seems to be making a knocking noise or tapping noise or somethin, any ideas on what it might be? And do 85' 200x hondas have oil filters or is it just that screen behind the spring when you take the oil drain plug off? Thanks guys, much appreciated

it has a screen. i bet you have the dreeded loosened timing chain knock. this typically meqans to fix it,y ou have to disssamble the top end and repalce the timing chain, guides and seals. while your at it, it's usually a good time to do a top end rebuild. so look to getting a compelte oil seal kit and gasket set off ebay, then look to getting a new piston. if you are doing that, I recommend movin gto a weisco 10.25-10.5:1 comp. piston. more performance, and better piston. you'll need to rejet the carb, but it makes a big difference in power!
