Is there still a member making case savers to fit the 200x for 83-85 models? anyone have a picture of what one would look like?
How come no one ever has a front sproket cover on their 200x in any photo I see?

Does the stock cover serve any function?

Better grab this one fast as I'm sure someone will . The stock case saver will take the flywheel cover also when the chain comes off so IMO they dont do much their . I used this style back in the day for racing my 200x , you just use a spacer at the top to get it to sit correct .

mines not for sale just stating i have one! they serve no purpose but protect the front sprocket! not sure who makes a case saver for them just keep a nice chain on there and you dont have to worry about it snapping. if you put a post in the classifieds someone may have one for you i got mine for a decent price from a member here on the boards, give it a shot, sorry for the confusion.

shortline, does that style of case saver need the stock cover over it to support it? I don't have the original cover.

Thanks again! Wasn't sure what holds it down aside from the one bolt tab we see on the device.

The stock 6mm bolt and about a 3/4" spacer and the 1 bolt holds it just fine .

Yeah, it looks real basic. But, its so cheap and presumably had some thought put into it. Looks like its cadmium plated too.

Ok, I got the case saver in the mail this week. Not sure how it mounts and to which bolt hole. It seems to line up with a small bolt hole near the shifter. But, nothing would really support the case saver. Does it go inside the shape of the casting in front of the front sprocket, so the shape of the casting supports it? I can't get it to line up with any hole if I put it where it looks like it should mount.

Bolts to the top hole were the old case saver bolted but you need a piece of tubing as a spacer or a few small washers to hold it out so it sits straight . Most of the time you have to bend them a bit so they fit correct .

So it is suspended from above. That's where I am going wrong. I'll flip it over and try to figure out which bolt hole to use that is above the sprocket.

I think you got it now just space it out , bend it to fit and bolt it up tight and your done .

Thanks, I should have thought more about the spacer you mentioned earlier. That would have been my clue that it faces the other way.
