Need Yamaha carb help....

So i went and rode today and bike was running great loving it. its a 85 Yamaha 225 dx but i stopped a bit and i noticed fuel coming out of the little tube on the bottom of the carb. when off it stops but when its on or on res it comes out. im thinking it has to do with the floats....am i right and if so what do i need to do to fix this issue?

the needle is opening too far, so adjust the seat on the floats down a little

If it's coming out of the hose connected to the bowl, I'd check to make sure drain plug screw is tight.

so do i bend the float up a bit or what?

no you want to bend it down a little

well the drain plug is tight ill check again. i did take the carb off and adjust the floats and it stopped but rode it and it started leaking again and now the bike seems to stutter occasionally.

Its a needle and seat / float issue. Either as you are thinking, the float height is set too high, or there is a problem with the needle and seat not sealing.
