So after my last outing in the hills, I decided I would love to have a trailer for my YTM225dx. I've read on here as much as the search feature will let me, but I was curious where is the best place to look for the axle. I have a welder and tons of metal sitting on the property so the frame and structure is no problem... Craigslist and ebay haven't turned up anything.

Im looking to build something along the lines of this

Last resort is to buy a totaled trike for the rear frame/axle, but I really hate destroying something.

i know lots of people that have went to junk yards salvage yards and got rear axles off of old front wheel drive cars because most of them are just like beams and they are able to be cut if there to long and just take all the guts out of the out of them except the wheel bearings then bam you have a axle for a trail and most likely get it for dang near nothing and with just a little bit of fab work have a good set up were hicks where am from lol but it works

I've used an old car hood in the snow for towing firewood

For a trailer similiar to the one in the picture you can buy spindles, hubs, bearings and make your own axel . Try to find hubs that will match up with an ATC wheel. Here is a picture of the trailer I built.
