Hey everyone! Can someone please clear this up for me... I would like to know what is the difference between a atc200m, atc200e, atc200s, etc.... I see them all the time but I have no clue... Is it because one has more features than the other??? Please explain! Thanks!!;)

M had electric start no suspension, E is a small big red, high low differential electric start front and rear racks, S is a basically an E with generally no racks, front suspension and pull start.

M has front suspension. The plain 200 has no front suspension or electric start. Front and rear racks were optional. The S is a newer plain 200.

sorry 200m did have front shocks. and the S is not basically an E with no racks. the E had high/low range, electric start, reverse,& bigger tires- big difference!-

200S and 185S have 22" tires with 8" wheels. ATC185, 200M, 200E, 200ES and ATC200 all have 25" tires with 9" wheels. 200E, 200ES, and 200M have electric start. 200ES has hi, lo, is the only one with reverse. 200E has hi and lo range. ATC185, 1981-1982 ATC185s, 1981-1982 ATC200 have no suspension. All 200E, 200ES, 200S and 200M, 1983 ATC200 and 1983 ATC185S have front suspension.

Those are just some of the differences.

The only 200 to have reverse was the 200es. It was high, low, reverse and shaft drive with front suspension. It was only made in 1984, seems like it was a holdover until the 250es was introduced in 1985. According to some of the production #'s on some of the other threads on this site, there were over 209,000 of them made. The 200e was produced from 1982-1983 and was electric start, with the high and low range "Submission" as honda called it, and a chain drive with front suspension. It did not have reverse. The 200m was produced from 1984-1985 and was electric start, front suspension with no high or low submission and a chain drive. The 200s was produced from 1984-1986 and was pull start only, with front suspension and a chain drive. There was also a streight 200 (not an E,ES,M or X model) It ran from 1981-1983 and was a pull start, chain drive bike, and it seems like the 1981 and 1982's were solid front forks with no suspension, but the 1983's had the front suspension option. Lots of the parts from these will intechange with other year bikes, so by now who knows whats been added, swapped and modified. There are many combinations of these machines out there by now.

Many years ago I had a ATC200, what I thought was an 84, with no front suspension. It's still a mystery to me. Maybe I am remebering the year wrong (which I doubt) or something else. One day I'll find an old pic of it.

It must have either been a mutt - or you are remembering the wrong year -

in 1984 - there was no ATC200 - but rather just the 200S, 200M, and 200ES - all 3 of which had front suspension. By 1983 all mid to large sized ATC's all had front suspension. The little guys remained no suspension thru their entire production cycle years (70/90/110/125).

Maybe it really was an '84 but someone had issues with the suspension and just swapped on some solid forks.

But they did not make an ATC200 in 1984 was my point mopar man.

All this from a guy who can look at each and every one in his shop and compare them :D

IT definitely had the ATC200 sticker across the back. I could be remembering the year wrong, but I only owned two trikes back then, and the other is a 1985 110, which I still have. I distinctly remember them being only one year apart. I had to go get parts for that thing a few times. We did buy it used, but my dad doesn't remember where we bought it from, could have been a Honda dealer. It still had the original tires on it when we bought it. Some where I must have a 35mm picture of it, but that might not help. I still have a set of tires from it, but I am not sure if it was on the original rims. I have a set of wooley bogers, on steel gold rims. I probably got rid of that thing like 20 years ago. But all this time I had in my head it was a 84.
