Whelp...went out all day yesterday and with the exception of gas leaking from the bottom of the carb every once in awhile (is it supposed to do that?) My '83 ATC200 ran beautifully.
I do however have an issue with second gear which explains the title of this thread. First, Third, Fourth, and Fifth all are fine, but when I'm in second it makes a ChockaChockaChockaChocka sound while under a load. It accelerates ok and isn't jumpy or anything, but a very disturbing sound just the same. I rode it all day and stayed in first in the thick trails and shifted straight through to third when we got out in the open so as to not exacerbate the problem.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be? I've never opened up one of these, and I'm not sure which service manual to look at. The motor in my bike is a 200cc from an '85 bike, but I'm not sure which model in '85. Are all the 200's the same?
Some of the service manuals I have looked at on here say the gears are probably worn.
