Got my motor in finally on my Tecate project, thanks to all who helped! I had a question about the carb,the stock carb throat cap has the special elbow on it for the cable, I purchased a VM-34MM new carb off Ebay but when I tryed to use the old cap of the 32mm stock carb, it did not fit onto the new carb.My question is does anybody have a mod to take the old elbow off the stock cap, (if that can be done without damage) or do you have a clue as to what carb will work with the old cap? I am trying to use the stock carb, but it may be done,I prefer to put all new on the fresh motor.Do you guys all use the elbow on your aftermarket carbs, is it really needed?Any help is appreciated.If you have picture of what your running on your ride please specify the cable as well if you post it.Thanks!

I converted my Tecate over to thumb throttle using my an old yamaha throttle I had around when I put the 39mm PWK on it... I rigged it then using the cable that came with the carb that is a straight up cable....However, I recently converted my Banshee over to a single 35mm PWK and before I put the cable I ordered for it on the Banshee I mocked it up on the Tecate.... It will work with my thumb throttle (Honda or Yamaha) and also has a 90 into the cap. I plan to order another one in the near future for the Tecate to make it "right" for me... I got the cable from Terry Cable- YAM34500THS - that's braided stainless cover- delete the S for black.. It fits Blaster stock thumb or Moose thumb with 28-34mm Mikuni, Airstriker, Keihin, 33-39 PWK.

I didn't see any way to utilize the stock bend or parts from the stock setup and believe me I tried...Anyway- Hope this helps or can point you in a direction that works for you.

Of the cable? I don't have it on the Tecate yet.... I need to order another one for that... I can take a picture of it on my Banshee with the 35mm PWK. Oh...and my Tecate is an 85. I mocked it up just for length on my trike and found it will work...Since I have a yamaha thumb throttle on the trike and honda throttle(lol) on the banshee and both use the Keihin carb now I can safely say it will work on the trike too. The only question I had was if the length would be right to use on the Tecate and it is...

if i remember correctly u can buy a new elbow drill out the out the new cap to fit the elbow which comes with a clip to hold it in the cap. u have to make it air tight so your not sucking in dirt.

I am surprised, is the elbow still available?, I placed a order for all new internals for the stock carb and most of them, to be honest all of them are discontinued from Kawasaki-I did not order the elbow though,can it be ordered from a aftermarket supplier?I can make it airtight with some JB weld.
