How to adjust cam chain on yamaha trike in English

I know this is explained in the yamaha manual, but I just can't figure I out. Right now my trike is not running, so I can't do this at idle. I've been told that it can be done by pulling the recoil to get tension on the cam chain...
Any advice would be appreciated!
