I have a 1986 atc 250r Honda
2 things
1.) the ignition coil wire was faulty so I ordered a new one and of course the spark plug boot does not come on it, does anyone have detailed instructions on how to put it on, is it crimped and/or how to do that.I also ordered a new cap.
2.) I have purchased some high temp header paint for the exhaust system to brighten it up, can I paint the engine with the same? Someone before me painted the engine gold and I dont like it? Also how would you prep the surface to use the paint
thanks

I beleive you just thread the boot onto the wire, but just making sure you dont have to strip any insulation off or anything and how do you know its all the way
The other pic is the engine in question for painting
thanks

That boot just screws onto the end of the wire. Put it on straight so the copper is touching the screw. You'll know its on when it gets tough to turn but don't go crazy on it. The paint I'm not so sure about, but I'll ask around.

should see a threaded screw in the end of the boot for the spark plug, screw it in the wire and your good.id strip the old paint first and repaint.

Whoever painted that thing gold like that should have his A**hole removed! Anybody on the "Silver Metallic Gray" "Dark Silver Metallic Dilemma? Im still looking for a good "match". Honda doesn't even know, and paint codes are useless. Closes thing I can find is either GM 7208 or Duplicolor Dark Gray Metallic. But Im getting closer.. hehe..
