Hey guys,
last night I was working on my 84 200S, it was out of comission when I got it, I rebuilt the carb, adjusted the valve clearance, cdi also. spark plug as well. I was able to turn it on but when it starts the RPM rev up really high. the throttle cable visually looks good, there no kinks & the throttle valve is out on right. I did adjust the the cable adjustment & also moved up the clip to the top on the jet needle but did't make a difference. Carb adjustment on the screw will not make a difference either. Another problem I noticed is that who ever had it before me ran the bike with no oil, sucker was bone dry, so the gear are stuck at times or only shifts one gear then gets stuck. I'm not really at a lose if it doesn't work since I can always use it as a parts bike for my other 200S & didn't pay anything for it but it would've been nice to get it going again. Any advise??

it revving like that to me says it has a airleak somewhere in the intake.

DO you mean wher the Carb is conected to the valve head? I didn't notice but I will check that. Just got my 85 110 running as well last night, it had a fouled plug. Question MR RPm, the choke on the 110 engines, if you flip it up does the ingage the choke?

yeah i mean the intake boot from the carb to cylinder or what you said above. as for the chokes on the 110s, flipping it back (im pretty sure) engages the choke. the choke is a butterfly valve that literally blocks the airflow in the carb. having the choke lever fliped all the way forward (off) will leave the valve flat and opened all the way for max airflow, the more you flip it back the more the valve closes and blocks the air flow. what i do with mine Is I close it fully and start it while giving it a bit of throttle then immediately once running i crack the valve open just barley to keep it running without having to give it gas and it will idle. for my 110 when the choke is on fully it wont idle. once I have it running i push the choke forward in small increments till the choke is off and the engine is running.
