Splitting case on 250sx question

Do I need to remove the flywheel to split the case? I can get 1/4" separation between the two but thats about it. I think the flywheel might be holding me back but the manual I have makes no mention to removing it.

Yeh . they may split to the right, IDK??The book said/showed?? What else did ya leave on there, a big giant gear and nut?? :lol: Take the flywheel off! Let the split where it wants to........

Front axle threads may fit and take off the flywheel...... I know rear axle threads fit - Toyota Bolts too......

Lots of parts on the ES and SX!!!!! Don't mix any up!!

Well thats what I figured but I got so caught up with following the manual that I didnt even notice that.
