It was running great, easy to start, idled all day - no problems.

Then while running around yesterday, it started to act very funny. It would kill itself after about 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. It will still idle great, that is no problem. It will just kill itself after a certain point on the throttle. Right after it starts to die, I let go of the throttle and it is fine. I can be riding along and find that certain spot on the throttle and kill it and bring it back consistently. It is not bogging, it is losing everything. It is almost like it is cutting the spark at a certain spot, but that makes no sense. It runs great up to that point. Since this problem, it has also become very hard to start. It feels like a fuel problem. I checked the carburetor and it is shiny clean - both jets were spotless, float works perfectly.

What do you knowledgeable people suggest? If you aren't sure, please don't guess.
If you need more info, let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the float in the carb? Make sure it does not have any holes in it and that it moves the needle freely. Also make sure the float is set correctly, you may have tweeked it after hitting a bump (unlikely, but you never know). Other than that I'd make sure all of the passages in it are clear. You can also get an in line spark checker to make sure you are not having ignition issues. I bought one for like $10 off of the snap on tool truck a few years back.

Maybe you should bring it to someone who understands how it works..................
