I am wondering if it is possible to change from a pull start to a kick start or if i can put an electric start on as well... Also i had to put a new pull start in last week.. but everytime i put it on the engine when i pull it out it will crank, but the rope doesn't pull back in... And i am trying to restore so can anyone help me out i have no idea where i can find new plastics at... And can i sand down my original plastics and repaint them instead??

I don't think you can make it a kicker, I'm almost positive you can't put an E-start on it, when my recoil went bad I bought a new spring and rope. Do you have all the parts in it like the dogs and what not? Did you wind the spring before putting it back on? Finally, Maier sells plastics, I wouldn't repaint because it'd look kind of odd.

I have all the dogs and different parts in it, and the spring.. there is a steel spiral rod in there that i took out at the bottom and winded back up before i put it on, and it still doesn't go back in. not sure what i did wrong.. and btw what is the url for the maier site??

Pretty sure the kicker start is out unless you swap out for a 200X motor/bottom end.. then you got to run a manual clutch/cable. Some people have stuffed a 200E/200M motor in the regular 200 frame to gain electric start, but you got to 'dent/deform' the front drop tube to make the starter motor fit, so I don't recommend that. Goki manufacturing might have made an electric start kit for it.... not sure if they still do or not.

The problem was that I didn't pre load the new rope by turning it twice and tying the rope there... And if anyone finds a link to goki electric start kit I would appreciate it.
