Which model? Might be cheaper to buy a full running engine then part out whatever is good on yours.

If you do all the work yourself your looking at a bare minimum of probably $150 for new bearings, gaskets (You'll need a full gasket kit and those run like $75 because of splitting the cases). If you have to have someone else do it, add probably another $100 onto the parts cost for their mark up and then 250-300+ in labor more than likely. A crank bearing is a major issue.

Dont give up! save your money and fix it right! Dont let another trike slip through the cracks!

I second that the 225DR are awesome, manual clutch, shaft drive, full suspension, electric start. Fix it. Even if you buy a running engine, keep yours for parts instead of selling it.

thanks every one, i never planned on getting rid of it but , i not too sure what is wrong with it, there's a weird noise coming from the bottom right side so i thought it may be a bearing so i was wondering how much im looking at spending. this machine is pretty rare i haven't seen one like it in Canada.

^ 200xmichigan, the 225dx/dr does NOT use a manual clutch. Yamaha guy, I would start by trying to figure exactly where the sound is coming from. Your best bet would be to refer to a service manual, and start taking it apart if you have the tools, then you will know exactly what the problem is, and fix it before it gets worse/breaks other things. Good luck!

If it was kept full of oil, these thumpers rarely eat stock crank bearings unless there old and 12:1................

Take it apart (with a manual) and see whatchya got!

well i always kept the oil up and topped off and every thing, so i got the owners manual and service manual from the internet on my computer so i guess that's my best bet, but the noise is coming from the right sound and more in the bottom end, but some times its not there.

EDIT: Maybe the wrong type of trike, sorry.
