Greetings! I do not currently own any 3 wheelers, but need something to pull double duty at the dunes and in the mountains. I have a 95 Banshee set up for the dunes, and a 2007 Can-Am Outlander 800 Max XT for the hills. I cut my teeth on a pair of 81 ATC 110's that I drove into the ground, and then later a 200X. A friend has a 350X that he ported himself, has the biggest cam that will fit w/out machine work, and used to run on C-10 and then alcohol that has since been put back to pump gas. Is there any chance of running this bike in the mtns of Utah? Nothing too crazy, but general mtn trails? Thanks in advance for your input!!!!

Imo the 350x was the best all around trail bike ever made. So to answer your question, yes I do think the 350x could hold its own in the utah mtns and then some.

Thanks for the input Keith! I've been spoiled by the powerband of the Banshee and that 800 Rotax, but that 350X was a monster the last time I rode it. I was toying around w/the possibility of maybe extending the swingarm by +2 or so to add a bit of stability, and maybe a wider axle. Does anyone even make this stuff anymore? I'm guessing I can maybe get a wider axle, but will I have to have someone build the swingarm for me? Anyone with input would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few people that make extended swingers for the x still. I also think you could make one from a different machine work. It would also not be that hard to extend it yourself. To be honest, the x is pretty decent as it sits stock. My suggestion would be to get it and make changes as you see fit. I am running 12.5:1 compression in mine and run it at the dunes with the stock swinger and axle with 21" straight paddles and have not had any issues with it, it even side hills pretty good as long as you know your limits.

I have some 4-110 wheel spacers on mine, (my rider... not the one in the pic) and a +4 Westcoast extended swinger. I absolutely love it in the woods. I can gas it up hills and not worry about the front lifting, yet can lift it if I need too. You will love it!

That's what I'm looking for. I still want to be able to bring the front up when I want (which should be no problem w/the 350), but want a bit more stability for steep hillclimbs.
