Fix it. A manual clutch in a 90 would be fun.

Yeah, I already told you in another thread that it's a transplant. The 90 never had a manual clutch, but 200XMichigan is right, it might be worth fixing. I also asked you in that other thread what the shift pattern was. Maybe you didn't understand the question, so sorry for not explaining. What I meant was, do you shift all down, or is it down for first and up for the rest?

If you have a broken gear or shift fork like I had with my 125m, it's both expensive and a big job. if it's something with the shift mechanism that you can get at by just taking the cover off, it might be easy.

i it's down for all the gears and it's a pull start and it say's 89cc on the engine

I think I know what your problem. The gear that you think is missing is actually neutral. I believe your first gear is all the way down, and then you lift up to neutral then second then third and then fourth. Go try that. I think you have either a sl90 engine or a cl90 engine and that should be the shift pattern, just like on a regular motorcycle. I think your transmission is fine. See if I'm not right.

ok well this is a picture of the part where it shows the gears"i dont know what its called" but were i marked the N it's also marked on the engine on the same place, if i kick up from the "N" nothings happens it doesn't go down any futher but if you kick down the pointer it moves and nothing happens and then i hit a gear then another then another then another so to get this right you want me to start it up at this position where i have the blue arrow?

Man, I hate to say this but it hurts my mind to read what you just wrote. Have you ever ridden a dirt bike or a street bike? Please don't refer to moving the gear pedal as kicking up or kicking down. When your trike is in neutral, you should be able to take the toe of your shoe and with the clutch pulled in you should be able to push down and find first gear. After that, You should be able to pull in your clutch and use your toe to lift up on the gear selector and find the other 3 gears one at a time. Try that and let me know what you have.

Start in Neutral..."N". Then you should have 1 gear down and 3 gears up.

Back in the day you could use the manual short countershaft out of a certain model road 90 for the cut case conversion and still keep the four down pattern. I did many times.

My guess is its an old atc90 race motor set up with a sl90 manual clutch , sl90 tranny shaft and a cut out hi/low set up . Pretty common setup for back in the day . Tranny should shift 4 down .

How about posting up a picture of the entire motor. that would most likely help us!

I betcha it looks like this clutch cover and that would make it a 1969 honda sl90 trail bike clutch conversion on an atc90 block . Ive herd of people doing a S90 clutch conversion but havnt seen one done .

92746you are right the clutch cover looks exactly the same , so it was running fine but i let the clutch out too fast and it stalled on me and now i dont have a first gear it's like i's on neutral all the other geras are there do you have any idea of what could be wrong with this beast

That's an S90 clutch cover and it looks very close to the sl90 but it has a removable cover at the clutch basket . basically the same as an sl90 just an older model 90 motor .

Check it out, I have been riding motorcycles for 16 years, and have not had as much fun as on my 110cc ATC 110. Fix it, you will love it.
