I remember reading somewhere that a 300 quad cylinder and head would fit on a 250sx but I cant find any information on it. Does anyone know if this can be done, and if so does it bolt right up or are any modifications needed?
Thanks

You can fit the TRX300 top end to the SX but you wouldn't get any bigger CC because the cylinders are the same the shorter crank gives the TRX the bigger CC....no mods need to fit the top end.....

so if ya rebuilt a 250sx motor could ya use the 300 crank as a stroker kit?

no the crank is different ......you could change the con rod for the shorter TRX but never seen it done so no idea if mods would be needed????

i'd think ya'd have to use the 300 cam also.

i plan on buying a old sx motor to (try to) rebuild, might have to get a 300 rod and see if i can find a bigger cam for a 300.

anyone else think it would work out or would there need to be valve work?

DOESN'T fit! Everything is the same, but the piston pin diameter is smaller on the 300! I rebuilt a 300 and was planning to put the 250es top on it since the 300 top was completly ruinned, but the pin doesn't fit.......
