just traded a non running 350x for a 85 tecate..will be looking for a set of green plastics for it soon..

I see a whole lot more 84 then 85 tecate there.

could be an 84 tried to look for the numbers but didn't see any on the frame i was just going with what the guy said...

Looks like an 84. The shifter is 85 though. The 84 shifter doesn't have the retractable tip. The 85 has an adjuster on the reservoir for the rear shock. The 84 doesn't. Looks like a good grab once you remove the paint from the plastics.

dcreel thanks fot the info it does not have the adjuster on it...Did find the number on the frame and it's JKAXTMA10EB502548 if anyone can tell from that number...called bike bandit and said that number didn't come up in there system...

hey, there i looked that up that number and it comes up as a 1984 Kawasaki tecate KXT250-A

In my world, still a very nice score.
I know you did not ask about mine but it is based as a 84, like yours. Some 85 upgradeds, some 86 upgrades and 1 87 bling thing thown in just for the heck of it (because its mine and i could).
