my 82 110 will only run half to full choke. does this bring any thing to mind? um i searched other threads but none of them have my problem. and i think the gas cap vents are clogged because it will be running fine and then just die. when i take off the lid it seams to start right back up. It seems to relieve pressure or suction? and help would be great because i am trying to sell this bike.

carb needs to be cleaned if it only runs on choke, jets must be plugged alittle

I have posted this many times . If the boot between the air filter and air box isnt perfect with no air leaking it will act that way , also make sure the filter is good . if you have installed an aftermarket exhaust it might be asking for more gas . Could be a dirty carb but if not the motor needs back pressure on the intake side of a 110 to run good and if the choke is needed to make it run than your creating back pressure with the choke .

I have this problem on my 250sx as well. I think its the air intake on gas cap or it needs a carb cleaning, I have not got around to try the carb cleaning yet. let me know what works for you

it can be the carb, but the chokes on these 110s are true chokes, its just a butterfly valve that blocks off air rather than most machines that run a fuel enricher that dumps extra gas in and bypasses the pilot jet kinda so when they are clogged they still run, on your true choke you still need some gas flow in your jets to run. it could be partially clogged and since your not getting all your gas then cutting the air will make it run, but partial clogs normally clean themselves with some riding. im betting its a air leak somewhere, your getting to much air rather than not enough gas as a dirty carb would produce. but look around and test it all the best way to fix things is to play around with it.
and as for it stalling randomly then removing the cap and it running again, i think thats a separate problem. sounds like a clogged gas vent or something

is there any way i can clean the gas cap vents. and it runs the best but still full choke and the gas cap problem with the idle mix screw all the way out.

correct jets clean runs with or with out choke. but when i put idle mix screw in it dies no matter the adjustment with or with out choke

it sounds like the reason your running without the idle screw is that your gas cap is vapor locking your fuel system enough to where it will run with no idle screw because it is letting in all the gas it can at idle. try running it without a gas cap and see what happens, if i am right it will start and be screaming because the idle will be way to high or it will not start because it is getting to much gas. but dont take my word as gosphel either because i am new to the whole 3 wheeler thing but i would assume they would act like any other engine.

the idle speed screw is in just not the idle mix screw.
