ok i been doing some searching on these for my 70 what i read they are good motors. i found some on ebay that look like they fit cant get demisions though but im shure i can make it fit. does this seem reasonable http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-UP-LIFAN-125CC-Motor-Engine-XR50-CRF50-XR-50-70-SET_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5882c9c60aQQitemZ38 0151383562QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories. the only thing i see is where i need a clutch lever/cable and a coil. i looked into putting a atc 110 motor in it but i tore it apart it needs a top end on it so i think a new motor is more reasonable. thanks for the input in advance!!!

They go right in pretty easily I am told. Carb and intake hit the tank. DR ATV has parts listed on their site.

You can get the same engine with the clutch cable and everything else for 330 shipped.

Here's the link. I was told some of the 125's are bit of an odd ball for sprockets..

Check out whole-cycle.. The deal with Piranha engines which are made by the same company as YX that make Pitster Pro pit bikes. They make great power and very good from what I am told.

The motor you are showing uses a stock sl xl or ct H 70 clutch cable, just so you know :Bounce, you can also get a 125cc with clutch in the back of the case {runs a bit stronger I think} from Wholesale-cycle for the same money and they have a cable that works with it. you don't have to modify too much to get either to work some spacers and a little slop in the intake holes or a multi hole intake mount, they bolt up pretty easy :D

ok engine ordered in route, got clutch cable and lever...now what about the chain and sprocket. will the stock chain work with the lifan sprocket, which sprocket combo would be a good all around combo im just gonna use it to play in a field and around my shop. the trans is a 4 up set up with a 14 tooth sprocket and has 1st 2.833:1, 2nd 1.706:1, 3rd 1.238:1, 4th 0.958:1. sorry if there was a thread on this already search hasnt been working for a couple of days for me.

The engine sprocket should fit the stock chain. I have run 14t fronts on both my 110 conversions and they seem to be good, haven't tried any others tho. The main problem with these engine swaps is that the carb doesn't fit under the tank. I found some aluminium brazing rods on ebay and they work a treat. Just cut the intke manifold near where it mounts to the engine, work out how far to rotate it then braze back together using mapp or butane torch, nearly as easy as soldeing

Why did you not buy a hydrolic clutch?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HYDRAULIC-CLUTCH-CONVERSION-LEVER-MASTER-CYL-PITBIKE-MX_W0QQitemZ280447780325QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcy cles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item414bfd85e5

I have install it on my sl70 engine and it work perfect for the price

they do fit perfectly.. only modification for a 70 is the intake like stated above.

I just went with a cable and lever as well..To me its less chance of failure out on the trail with a simple cable.

Does anyone put these into ATC90's...What's the biggest one you can get into a 90 without major mods?

I am putting a 140cc into my 90.. Pit bike exhaust fit with one little bend. Just need the swap brackets from DrATV and it goes right in. Just doesn't use the front mount. Plus you have to drill one mount hole on the engine out to 7/16". Not a big deal
