Big Red Headlight

I have a '83 Big Red, but it has a headlight on it off an '85 BR, and i read somewhere here before that a headlight bulb from a Mazda car could be used in these. I can't get the search function to work...can anybody tell me which car headlight can be used for the '85 Big Red Headlight?

Do you still have the original bulb? Look at the base, and take it over to your local parts store... I believe its a H4 base, and I have a 55-65 watt modern halogen in my 85 BR... Been using it like that for a year now, and it works great...

manual says 45/45 watt for headlight. As Thorpe said above, may run slightly higher wattage though.......
