200e engine removal

I just finished my first AutoX conversion and I am starting on another one. For the first AutoX, I used a 185S engine, and the removal of the 185S engine from the frame was straightforward. As I try to remove the 200e engine from it's frame, it seems like there is not enough room to get it out.

Is it necessary to remove the starter motor to get the 200e engine out of the frame?

yes, absolutely necessary, you have to try and pivot it as well, then you can grab the motor from the right side and it slides right out.
