so Saturday i got a 84 250r from my uncle. she's ugly gut ill get her looking new again. but here is some questions. do they need chain sliders or guide mine doesn't have then and the sprockets is dead, is there any others that would fit it or would you haft to get a 250r one. and i heard that an 86 carb would make a lil more power is that true. and dos any aftermarket pipe work on all the 250r's
so tell me some stuff guys

As for sprocket(s), I ordered a chain & sprocket set from eBay seller "sledpartsguy" last year and so far I've been very happy with the set... I see he still has the sets listed for the '84 250r:

It's not an o-ring chain, but I'm still happy with it. Hasn't stretched at all (haven't had to adjust slack after about 20 hours of riding) and the sprockets don't show much wear at all. Keep the chain clean and it should last you a couple seasons at least.

i would find a chain slider so your chain doesnt rub the swingarm
