I finally rebuilt it and got it running, but it leaked tranny oil like a sieve, so i took off the clutch cover (leak spot #1) and replaced the shifter shaft seal (leak#2) which solved the problem.
But to change the seal i needed to remove the shaft, which icluded removing the clutch (centrifugal) and after i got everything back together i fired it up for a test run and it wouldnt move, it jumped when it went into gear but when i gassed it just sat there...it doesnt even try to move.

Any sugestions, did i maybe not tighten something enough to cause the cluch to slip always? It worked perfectly a few hours before that so it must be clutch related...

Thanks for any help.
Rodney

well first off i'm not very familer with this paricular modle but heres my opinion. you might have gotten some oil on the clutch pads which will cause it to slip, disassemble and check the pads and cleen with denatured alcohol or some kind of oil removing clenser, that should fix the problem.

thats the only thing i can think of

I believe you'll need to readjust your clutch. You've most likely lost your adjustment settings. To adjustclutch, remove clutch cover.Make sure you tip your trike a little so you don't lose the tranny oil. lossten the two locknuts slightly. Back out the adjustment stud then turn the stud in until you fell slight resistance. Hold the position of the stud and tighten the inside nut. Then tighten the outside nut to the inside nut. You should be able to turn the stud with little efort but there should be no end play. That should do it. I had to do this when I rebuilt my YT a couple years ago. Had the same problem and that took care of it. Good luck, Chuck

can you tell if the clutch is sliping or not? or is it just flat locked up :?: if its spinning i would go wit hthese guys.. but if it is bogging the engine down when you give it gas then your locked up

Thanks Yamachuck that was the exact problem, i must have overtightened the nuts you told me about and it was constantly applying the clutch so it wouldnt move ...now onto the ther problem!
