i have a 1986 250sx that i was going to put my 85 350x carb on. i have a carb kit and the bike tore down to get the carb out. just need a little help.

i did a bunch of thread search but cant find the right way to do it. so i take the carb apart and rebuild w/250sx jets? also going to have to grind down the choke lever to clear. is there anything more?

might have to get my parents camera do a how-to thread while i'm doing it,if i can figure it out...lol

The carb swaps, obviously, and nothing needs to be ground to clear.

What kinds of mods are done to your rig? If it is stock try to swap out the stock X jets for your sx jets, if that doesnt work (which is what I think will happen) take the X jets to the store and get that style in a size you need. It will probably run if you just swaps carbs but it'll be so rich it may not run right.

I had exhaust and intake work and I ended up running a 134 main and 2 sizes up from stock on pilot I believe

thanks nate,

sounds like i might just leave the sx carb on there till i get a free flowing exaust for it. it's stock besides the uni filter on it. i was going to run it with the airbox lid off also (keep it in the trunk incase it gets to muddy). never realy messed with carbs so i'll leave that for next winter, the muds almost here i gotta have this thing ready.
