Picked this up Monday for $300 from a co-worker. Been sitting for years, he cleaned it about a year, put a brand new knobby front tire on it, never drove it. The rear Dirt Dogs he said have only been driven on twice. So i figure i bought 3 tires and got a trike for free. Only started a tune up so far, oil change, cleaned the carb and fuel tank, washed and oiled the air filter. Thanks to MonroeMike, i got the manuals for it so ill check the rest of it out. Going to drop the head light back down to were it was stock and figure out way it doesnt always work. Clean and straighten the racks then paint or bed line them. Maybe look for a set of sprung forks to swap on the front, drove it around the yard for half hour and im sore already lol. What do you guys think? on my local craigslist the used and abused trikes are about $600 and go up to $1200 for a nice well keeped one.

That looks good for the price. The plastics and tank look good and the engine looks very clean. The seat looks freshly recovered. How is the pan underneath? I agree with you on getting the headlight back down. Maybe the reason it doesn't work sometimes is that it's pulling the wires since it's extended so high? That looks just goofy. Your front rack also doesn't have the right supports but finding them might be a challenge. Good luck on your trike.
PS - You might want to disconnect your decompression cable (front right side of the engine as you're sitting on it) to save yourself some frustration when it doesn't start. ;)

Thanks. The rear rack has weird suports that dont look stock also. Racks were an option so they were probly added some time after. Decompression cable already unhooked. I dont dout ill be addidcted lol. Lasted time a bought somthing to tinker with it was planned to just clean it up and drive it, 4 years later i have a s10 that isnt one bit stock.

The front rack looks factory minus the support brackets. Now that I look at the back one again, that's definitely off of a different machine. I'll take some pictures of mine to show you what it should look like.

Had some time to kill waiting for a customer to show up so i pulled the front rack and head light off. lubed up my front brake cable but it still doesnt work. adjusted the shifter and handle bars so i can drive it. In the nexted week i hope to get in to the brake drums and see if they just need to be relined or adjusted. Finally got the starting "technic" down lol. Half choke and a hair of throttle and it will fire 1st or 2nd pull. Thats if i remeber to turn the fuel off when im done for the day lol. I had it idling this morning well i mucked around with the light to see why its intermittent, when i killed it, it dieseled for a few seconds. Its never done that before. From it sitting there at idel for 10mins or so have caused that?
