ok guys i was riding hard today at the local spot with some buddies...well everything was ok till about mid day...i made a drag run and at the end of it the bike started idaling up and down...i made one more pass and heard what sounded like valves ticking at high rpms but of course it doesnthave valves.. i stop and it died and locked up tight for about 15 mins...i jumped on the kicker about 5 times it freed up..i also looked at the cylinder and it was smoking...i checked it and it was very low on coolant ...i filled it up and i ran fine actully better then it did earlier in the day...has something every happend like that to any of yall....i thought i wouldhave damaged something and if i got it unlocked it probly would have run horriable ...any ideas?

If it locked up, its time to tear the motor apart. Dont keep running it this way, it will be worse in the long run, which wont be long from now. Where did all the antifreeze go? Did it leak out, or did it get into the motor / tranny due to a bad seal or gasket? How does the spark plug look?

Definitely check your spark plug. Look for a whitish color, and possibly aluminum flecks attached to the electrode. It sounds like it is running lean. A lean bike will run real good for a little while.

Also check your compression .

Drain the Transmission Oil & make sure it's not mixed with coolant.

Take Pictures and report back !

i checked out all i could at the track...the water pump is pumping and there is no coolant in the tranny...i had run it very hard for several hours pulling a sled thrue the snow about 3 weeks ago i think thats what ate up my coolant...but it is running perfect now compression is good and its full of coolant now.

well coolant just dont go away.your leaking it somewhere.its either in the motor and getting burned or out of the motor and leaking out.keep a good eye on it,check often.and run at least 32-1 on your premix

If it locked up, that means the piston expanded so much that it actually got stuck in the jug. Willing to bet if you take the pipe off that you will find the piston is scuffed up, which also means aluminum from the piston is prob stuck to the jug. You prob got a time-bomb on your hands now...........

" They always seem to run their best just before they blow!!!"

the problem with that statement was it had already died in action but was some how brought back to life and is now running better than before?
