Just bought another BIG RED 250 es in decent shape I call it a rider I paid 1350 which maybe high for you U.S boys but up here we pay but the things are barely used a few months a year if that. So anyway my point is it came with a piece i found in trunk that adapter for the front power plug with as two small holes with postive and negative on it. So it must have been made to convert some power unit but what ? it will be handy to add another light or a lighter ,,just never seen an adapter before ..thoughts?

It was the accesories plug from Honda. Wasn't a convenient adaption in my opinion. Gave mine away, and retro'd a cig lighter onto my BR... Much more convenient, but still havent had a need for that either...

yes that picture is it so its a plug converter its pretty lame though it gives you two small holes to plug wires woopee, think i will covert to a lighter though and special wiring ? or just normal

I don't know what year yours is, but that page came from the 86 owner's manual here.

I was looking at things to do with that power adapter as well. My thought was to slap a marine radio into a water tight box to afix to the front rack and get some tunes going on the trail. Just a thought. Anyone ever tried using the 12v dc supply for that? Would be kind of neat to have a "built in" stereo system on an 86 Big Red. Would be a conversation piece anyways.

I wired a mini air compressor to the plug. Now if I get a flat tire on the trail i can fix it there. Any DC powered device can be wired to the plug. Anything that is ment to be plugged into your car cigarette lighter will work. To wire it up you need to pull the insides out of the rubber housing, fish the wires in and screw them down. then push the plug back in the housing
