84 Tecate has a front drum brake, 85 has a disc. Bearings can be found at www.goallballs.com. The fenders are discontinued oem and now maier. Try ebay for the fenders. What color is your rear suspension linkage and swingarm? If it is gold it is an 84.

If you are interested we have a group for the 84-85 Tecates, and there is all the info you need in there. Welcome to the site. Got any pics of your Tecate?

Got any pics of the swingarm? It may be aftermarket. No I don't think that they have the linkage bearings. Kawasaki may still stock those. Try www.bikebandit.com for those. They have the schematics of the parts.

This is very true.. A few days after your order is in you will get an e-mail telling you the parts aren't available. It usually slows down your order as well.

I need to get the seals out of my 85 forks (having trouble with that) replace seals, mount forks and fill with fluid. Replace a stripped out shifter and we are ready. 200x needs the rear shock rebuilt. Anybody know of any place to find an 85 Tecate shift lever with the folding tip?

I have a set of almost new trail pros. I may put them in for a distance throw... :-) Longest distance throw gets the set.

Shifters are getting tough to find......whats the problem with the fork disassembly?

Seals won't come out. I've tried putting them in the sink in hot water. Using a screw driver to pry them out. I just pry the metal part of the seal straight up, but the seal won't budge. I tried a 20" screwdriver through the other end of the fork lower to tap it out. Screwdriver wouldn't hit the side of the seal. Tried to bend it and broke the tip of the screwdriver off. There has got to be an easier way of doing this.. but I will be damned if I have figured it out yet. Worked on them for about 5 hours. Put a hammer through the top of my work bench. Needless to say I had to step away.

I don't think so, the last 2 times I have ordered parts from bikebandit the parts were available on the web site, but I got an e-mail from them a few days later saying the parts are discontinued. I had to get the parts from ebay.
