This is why you shouldnt leave any machine outside w/o a sparkplug. This motor was filled to the sparkplug hole with water when i took it apart. It was also siezed .After freeing it w/ wd40 and a rubber mallet(2 hrs later) I found that the bottom end was filled with rust colored gooey crap. One day I will split the cases and see if the motor is worth fixing. When I turn the crank it makes a nasty grinding sound too.

i bought a parts bike when i was redoing my yellow 85 Z. there was no head or jug one the motor. as a matter of fact the piston was gone too.the crank was rusted completly!! the stator i am unsure of?? i was able to split the cases and the side clutch case was in great shape. already used that on another friends bike!! the tranny was perfectly clean still had the oil in there.some parts that where exposed to water were rusted to helll but clean on the inside. it was nice having extra clutch parts and a few others. i paid $200 for the parts bike with one good front fork, frame, swingarm, one rear rim, front rim, tire some brake parts, excellent yellow radiator scoops, front plastic, axle lots of good parts. sold most but i did use a lot of parts for my Z. sold everything else for probable double what i paid for the bike. i never ask a price just asked for offers too. talk about getting a few bucks and helping others out.. neeed any parts Jim??? lol

I know what you mean. I bought a 1987 KX 125 a few weeks ago, that had the reed cage and carb and intake off and the spark plug out, and it was locked up pretty good to, so I just said screw it and put a pipe wrench on the flywheel and it broke right loose then I got the cylinder off and it looked exactly like yours does, I put some kerosene and crap in the bottom end sloshed it around and it was perfectly free, but you could still hear/feal a little roughness in the crank, like something in the main bearings or something.

If that was a Honda it would probably still run!! lmao

Man, I hate when stuff like that happens. Not much you can do other than clean it all up and replace the bad parts ( if your going to get it running ).
