Does anyone know if the 86/87 kxt 250 tecate plastics (front and rear) would fit on and 85 Kxt 250?

Does anyone hate the idea of me putting 86/87 plastics on an 85 tecate?

Does anyone dare me to try it anyway?

and lastly does anyone want pics if i go through with purchasing 86 plastic for my 85?

i think it would look pretty cool but i would love to see pics of somone who has done it. the only reason i had the idea was ive been looking on ebay for a long time for replacement plastic and 86/87 is more abundant/cheaper and the seller of the 86/87 plastics say that they can be modified to fit an 85. thanks for you input though guys, i appreciate it.

Front will bolt up with minor mods......how ever it looks kind of weird where the fender is cut around the fork tube for the 86-87 on the first gen t-3. Mine came that way so I took it off!

oh god i didnt realize the 84/85 guys would start sucking up the plastics for the 86/87. Great

The Tecate 4 plastics look way cooler dude. Buy those.

I'm with you nd4speed, you Bloody 84/85 guys have had it great for years with your la-de-dar Maier aftermarket gear and spare parts. Now as soon as Maier do the dirty on us T3 owners, its cannibalization time is it? Well thats just not right!

I reckon if you put 86/87 T3 plastic on your 84/85 T3 your cheating... your T3 will look like a franken trike.. and rats will climb into your tail pipes and die..... and and...er T4 plastic looks way cooler!

For gods sake can someone go to Maier and buy up all the T3 molds and do all us Kawasaki Trike riders a favour by actually suppling a product to the marketplace.

Particularly for us poor suckers who live outside the land of Three Wheelers!!!!

Considering Kawasaki still makes OEM fenders for the 86-87 I don't see your complaint!

Well i guess selling more would give Kawasaki more incentive to produce them if they are in fact still making them. There is no public announcement of when or why parts are discontinued. Oh well, nothin I can do about either one anyway.

Just wait untill the next A-1, A-2 group order. Already, just on 3WW there are 7 thumps up. Only need 3 more, and there are other sites to ask around. Giving Tammy time to cool her white plastic order, but when she's ready to roll it could be done in a few months. I dunno, green or black?

i'll have to dig thru some pics and check photobucket, but yes the 86/87 rear fenders do fit the 84/85 t3. with modification. you have to cut the back part of the seat pan on the rear fenders in order for the seat to fit correctly, and latch. they look ok, a bit big i think, but not as good as a set of oem 84/85 fenders. search for biggreenmachine. james has a set or used to have a set on his 85 t3. not sure what he has now cuz i havent seen him on here i quite sometime.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a KX500 (or KX250) frame with an 85 KXT front end, 86 KXT rear swingarm and 86 KXT rear plastic.

not that it matters for the purpose of the last question, but I was always interested in this one because it was a hybrid of some description

ive seen 86/87 t3 front fender on 84-85 t3 but it looks like azz with the wide front tire. i think it do you a 2nd gen T3 front swap it would look fine. Rears honestly i bet blaster or wairrior 350 fender should work. I know you can get blaster in lime green.

the 86 rear look good on that. but would the frame make a difference with the angle that they sit?

That is an 85 KXT frame with an 88 KX500 cradle welded in, 88 500 motor, 86 rear fender and swingarm and 88 KX tank. :)
