I was thinking about building a ski for my trike and had a couple questions.

1. would using two snowmobiles skis for the width be better instead of one snowmobile ski?
2. is there a mathematical equation for how much surface area you need on a ski to float a given weight on snow?

I was think of cutting down two older polaris skis I have and making somthing like these.

Should float along top of the snow when in motion either way. There is not a lot of weight up front so turning may be an issue unless you move your weight forward. Cool!

how did it turn out? im interested in the same thing. is there a track kit that will bolt on the rear as well? i saw old 250r's on a video with tracks and skis tearing it up

Sorry guys my computer has crashed so I have not been able to post lately, I have not had a chance to work on the ski idea becaues I am having a problem with cylinder studs pulling out my motor, so I having been trying to get that fixed. I will post up progress when there is some. Thanks, Alex
