I am having trouble removing the front axle from this trike and need some help. It looks like the axle goes through one shock through the other and is attached with a threaded nut. I removed the threaded nut and tried to rotate the axle with a screw driver (through hole in axle flange). It doesn't seem to budge. I also tried to drive the axle out with a hammer (not too hard). Is it just stuck??? Any help on this would help me. Thanks

It sounds to me like it is siezed, probly on the inside side of the bearring. It will most likely be a tough one to get off, especially trying not to wreck the axle. You may want to try penetrating oil, like PB blaster is the best, adn let it soak. After a thorough soaking, and it still dosnt move, heat is the next bet. The next step is beaking the bearrings out with a chizzel / punch. when you get the balls to fall out, the axle will come, but still poses two problems, one the races will still be in the hub, and still need to be removed, and two there is a steel spacer that will be stuck on the axle. Good luck with whatever you decide, and these are just starting points.

Wouldn't the 84 have pinch caps on the axle? Stupid question, but I am unsure if the 84s had them. My 200 Custom does not have pinches, but the front end is off an 82
