Hi,
I have a 185s and 200s and was looking for a frame with suspension. I was curious, will my 200s or 185s engine fit into a 200x frame fairly easily? It'd be nice to have front/rear suspension. Also, can I put larger tires on the 200x? (same ones from my 's' models?)
Everyone with an X seems to have small rear tires. I'd like mine as big as possible. Not sure how big I can go without having to worry about plastics hitting the rear tires.
Also, what was the real difference between the 200x and 200s engine?
Thanks a lot guys.

200s should bolt up to an 83-85 200x frame. Bottom end is the only difference, one is auto 5-speed and the other is a manual 5 speed. Not sure about the tire question.

Your wheels from your 185s or 200s probably will not bolt up to 200x hubs since they are different lug spacing. You can swap hubs though to get around it.

22" tires should be big nuff for the 200x, but ive seen 25's don it (looks bad)

the hubs from your s will bolt to a x axle and as far as the motor it bolts right in all you need to do is bend the s lever slightly and you are good to go

I've swapped a few of them. Tires shouldn't be a problem, they'll fit either model fine. The only issue you'll run into swapping engines is going to be the rear brake pedal. On the X it mounts using the engine so you'll need to fabricate some sort of support.

Does the 185 fit the same as the 200?

185s and 200s are basically the same, search that "auto X" and it should walk you right through it.

I have done the 185S swap into a 200X frame...it's a little more involved than just bending the shift lever if you want to do it right, but by no means hard to do. Here is a picture of mine. I sold it a while ago but can answer any questions about doing the swap.

Cool, I might be getting an extra 185 motor, and put one in my 200X for my wife. Or get a roller or something and do another trike.
