:naughty:The 86 i picked up has a bent axle. two cracks in the rear fender , and a chewed up seat . The other owmer said the seat was mint until his dog got ahold of it before i bought it from him . This bike still has the factory tires on it . The bike did not run when i bought it . I pulled the carb & cleaned , changed the oil and the filter , replaced the air filter . This thing runs great and has low hopurs on it . I repaired the rear fenders , i am in the process of fixing the bent rear axle . I found a axle straighting tool that i guy made here in beaumont , texas back in 80's . You can see it in the 3 wheeling magazine issue August 1986 on page 39 . My dad is in the process on making that axle straighting tool . I picked the 1987 125 for the rear axle and found that it has a slight bent on the brake hub side . This axle is in better shape straighter than the one in my 86 , i am going to try and fix both of them . The 87 model looks rough oil leaking out of head , it looks like it is buring alot of oil from looking from the tail pipe . I am going to part out the 87 model , let me know what you all need . Thanks for looking .Blair

That 87 125 doesn't show up too often, you may be better off keeping it.....

Nice score!!..................

I would love to have that 87. If I were you, I would use the 86 to fix up the 87. I don't think I have ever even seen a pic of a 125 before, I always assumed it was a lay down motor. How hard would it be to put a 200 top end on it?

^^^ parts are rare for these 86-87's.
If you can't get top dollar, stash them away.
Awesome find, BTW. My 2 cents.

Thanks , for all the good comments . The 86 has a mint tank with no rust inside and the 87 tank has a couple of small dings and the paint is not in the greatest shape .

These parts are hard to come by for the 1986 and 87 125m's . I have been looking on ebay for parts and have not had any luck . You just don't see them on ebay like the 84 and 85 models .

If they were mine, I would fix them both up, putting the priority on the '87. Those are pretty rare.

I am going to keep the 86 model only , the 86 is mint compaired to the 87 . The 87 needs a motor overhaul , plus there are other toys that i am looking for . I will part it out to pay for my hobby . I love buying old bikes . I like all makes and sizes . I am looking for a 1989 yamaha prohauler 230 .

Hi friend was wondering if you decided to get rid of any parts or if you still have them? I am in desperate need of a tank dont care what it looks like or which year 86 and 87 are model specific so I need one or the other plus all mounting hardware pet cock etc... If you would like to get rid of that or anything else I would really like to buy at least the tank if you still got one.
