Buying an ATC 70... need advice

They guy says it needs nothing... the least he'll take is $500... what do you guys think?

500.00 isnt bad if it doesnt need anything . If the front fender is rubbing the motor the frame could be bent a little which is a common problem with the atc70

My knee-jerk reaction is that it's too much, but when I think about it, I realize that my $50 ATC70 had at least $500 in it by the time it was done. Like shortline said, if it really doesn't need anything, you should buy it.

And I can tell ya, the new owner is very happy with her first trike!
It has an 85cc big bore(lol) kit and larger carb, plus the original carb, head, and intake, original owner's manual, etc. It's pretty sweet.

That 70 looks real good. I think you did fine $ wise and I it looks like someone is already enjoying it. My little girl is five and we ride her 70 all the time. Gets both of us away from the TV. Have a blast with it.

Yeah, good snag. I've started to think that from a $$ perspective, buying running trikes is the way to go. These basket cases end up costing a whole lot more than a machine that's already running. It may not offer quite the same satisfaction as getting the basket case running, but if you're looking for something to ride, it's a better choice. My son is growing out of his ATC70, so I bought a $100 basket case 125m to rebuild for him. By the time I'm done with it, he'll be grown out of that too, and I'll be many hundreds poorer!

That 70 looks real good. I think you did fine $ wise and I it looks like someone is already enjoying it. My little girl is five and we ride her 70 all the time. Gets both of us away from the TV. Have a blast with it.

Yep... this her UPGRADE from a 2007 Chinese quad.. she loves it... it's just like dad's only smaller!

in my area one that looks that good and if it ran as good as it looks, would bring $600 to $700. you can find them cheeper sometime in my area but not very often. that is why i pick up all the junk ones, fix them, and sell them.

As for the front fender rubbing from the bent frame, ours has the same problem.
There is a thread on here somewhere that shows how to straighten the frame with a bottle jack and a block of wood.
Looks like a quick and easy fix. Maybe we can get together and have a frame straightening party.

Sounds good... the garage is cold, but that's where the beer is! Yeah, the guy I got it from made a headlight out of an old flashlight... works pretty good, and he didn't alter anything to do it... would like to find a Honda headlight kit for it...
