Price when new.

The guy I bought the 87 250sx from called me today to ask how it was doing O_O, sadly I had to tell him that I sold it, but as we talked he told me he found his file with the receipt for his 350x and 87 250sx... Get this; 2,185.58 for the 250sx, and a whopping 3,384.63 for the 86 350x. He sold it to me for 300, because of him not using it or the 350x

To think, today we think over a grand is too much for most out there.

I just thought it was weird how cheap he sold it to me for.. factory, he may want to sell his 350x, would you be interested? he says 500 will take it.

Yeah something is way wrong with those prices. A brand spanking new 1986 250r retailed for like $2200-2300. My 1985 200x was around $1750 (we paid $1600).

Sounds like Harley dealership tactics/pricing there.....paying a premium OVER retail just for the luxury of buying a Harley. No way would I have paid $3000+ for a new 3-wheeler when retail was what Dammit described to a "T" around here also.

That $500 350X, however, would be mine if it weren't half way to Russia from me...:)

Those KTMs are sweet, they already have Ohlins shocks on them, and many other upgrades you would have to spend on the other 450s costing you more in the long run, if your gonna make a race quad that is.

rofl, you could spend 1/3rd of that on a trx250r with a aftermarket chassis, and whats even funnier is that some the chassis come with different mounts for different motors. And elka and axis are way better than ohlins. Lol the first company to come out with a cheap bike that is the same as the other bikes will make bank. Nobody is going to spend $11,000 on a quad they be afraid to wreck. The reason companies are about bankrupt is the prices they are trying push off on people. Almost every person with a 450 is still paying payments for it.

this is very true, but also takes technical ability to even know where to start. KTM will make their money with the overwhelming amount of retards who walk in and say "i want the best one" see the price tag and buy it. this is the same guy with a hummer H2, any porshe, or any new crotch rocket. lmao im kidding. but people who have money still have money and people who dont have less. people buy expensive stuff with the thought of it being better. i know see so many people buy boats and crap without doing any ressearch and they just go by the salesman. the KTM IS BETTER off the showroom floor, and alot of people dont know how to modify anything and plan to keep it stock.
if it were me i wouldent even buy a new quad. id get me a used trx450 thats blown up and tear it down and replace parts with HRC and aftermarket parts, but thats because i know how.
