With all the snow we've gotten this year, I've been mostly unable to ride the trails. Today I went to a friend's house and rode his Honda Foreman, and that thing really handles the deep snow. There's no way my 250SX would have handled the 12" of snow on his farm. So I found myself shopping Honda's website this evening, and I'm thinking about it.

What to do? Go to the dark side? :naughty:

I just wanna ride without getting stuck! I got my 200s so stuck on Monday that I about passed out dragging it out. And it's not like you can put a winch on those things anywhere, not easily anyway.

Nooooo!!! 3 wheelers are like convertibles in the winter... it may seem like a good idea to get somthing else when they aren't at their best but once the warm weather hits your wishing ya didn't sell.

Its perfectly fine to go to the other side, I would be willing to bet that most of us on here own atleast one 4 wheeler. They are just more functional for some things. Just dont forget about the 3 wheeler that did everything you could dream of at one time.

I have a winch when playing in the really deep snow (when the blade is off) Had to use it yesterday, and was glad I had it...

there is nothing wrong with owning a quad. i dont use my trikes if im going hunting cause i like the rack on my quads and the 4x4 with winch. a quad is more useful than a trike but the trike is alot of fun. i prefer to ride my trike when im just trail riding or scouting. agreed save the trike for warmer months.

I'm not sure what response I expected, but not this. I guess it makes sense that a lot of guys here have quads, but we all have a lot of pride in our trikes, and I didn't expect a bunch of people to readily admit owning those extra-wheeled things!

I guess I'll take the conversation to Quad Central to ask the next question....what do you like?

A buddy has left his '06 Rancher 400 4x4 at my house for months, and will probably be here into the summer due to his having to move to an apartment with no plce to keep it for a little while. I'll admit I've rode it a time or three when nothing else here had gas in it, but it's not anywhere near the same. It's kinda cool to poke around at 10 mph and ease around the field to find a sunny spot with a wind-break to drink a couple beers, but that's all it is to me. I'd prefer a Big Red.

I was going to build the Quadzilla I just traded off for a running '85R, but I couldn't get excited about it cause 4-wheels don't turn me on.

Guess what I'm saying is it's not a matter of right or wrong, it's just what you like and nothing more. Good luck either way!

Oh, and worry not, my friends. I don't plan on getting rid of any trikes! I'm just going to have to build a bigger garage!

As long as you know your TRUE LOVE......I like my quad in snow better and beater 200SX is a blast in it. I'll keep my R in when then snow is more than 3in.....and from the looks of it that'll be in june

i would take a foreman any day over my 200es. but then it would be 5x the price. remember you are on a 3 wheeler forum and you are going to get some biased answers

if you do go black, look at the wolverine 450 first.

Normally I agree, Fabiodriven, but are you taking that sweet KLT160 in the 12" of snow you probably have up there in MA?

Daniel, that's exactly what I wanted...the biased opinion of 3-wheeler enthusiasts who understand what a hard transition it is to go to a quad.

FactoryX, the Wolverine looks very cool, but it's a sport quad, and I need utility. It has to double as a workhorse, I'm afraid. That helps justify the expense.

i love my big red but if i do get a quad i wan a 2000 Honda Trx300 4x4 small and nimble and can get into some tight places.

Without 4 wheel drive quads are useless in the snow and actually trikes are better!!! Have fun on the table top with your FOREMEN!!

now where i live if your trail riding alot of times a trike will go places my big bear wont, cause the quad is wider and plus its heavier and wont float. its a hard decision every time i go riding, to take my big bear or my ytm. i like them both but some days i want the winch and the 4x4 and some days i want the fun factor of the trike.
