'85 200x frustrations

Can anyone tell me if an 86-87 200x motor will bolt into an 85 200x? Im tired of dealing with a slipping kickstarter. Wouldnt be half as bad if i could just call honda and order the parts, but when the microfiche says call for price, you know you are screwed. Thanks for any help guys.

Nevermind, I just took some initiative and did some research and found out that it wont work.

Found a cheap 86 Im going for it>>> 84 is going after a cam chain change....maybe?

So the 86-87 doesn't have any kick starter problems?

the 83-85 dont if you do the upgrade and fix the ratchet spring LOL

You mean under cutting the gears? I want top get a hold of a spare engine. Also don't have a garage right now to even think about splitting cases. Wouldn't want to practice undercutting gears on my only set and wild up with a push start 200X. Or do it wrong and have a tooth break off and mess something else up.

Did you under cut your gears? Was it hard?
