well after multiple requests for better pics, and some carnage over the weekend here is the build again with more pics and explainations of the upgrades
here is the top motor mount that i made, when i received the motor it was out of a KX250 frame so the top mount was removed off the head for clearance issues,me feeling confident that it was not needed, decided not to address it until a later date...paid for that last weekend:cry:

here are the front mounts that i made, originally they were made from the same 3/16 aluminum that the originals were constructed from, that turned out to be a mistake.they are now 3/16 mild steel taht has been powder coated to match the top mount

here is the modified KX5 exhaust pipe you can see right after the tight bend radius a small(about 1")piece from another pipe was added, this was just right to give a good aount of clearance aroud everything that needed it,other than the stinger this was the onlt part of the pipe that required modification

i wil take more pics tomorrow as it is going back together especially the parts that need modification to make the KX5 motr swap complete.....Im sure you are wondering what happened last weekend that made all the changes nessasary....here go's

after about 20 minutes out on the ice and several 1-2 mile WOT runs across the lake, shortly thereafter the chain bailed??not realizing what was going on at the time i put the chain back on and once up and running again I stopped to bs with a few friends,as i went to restart it,the bottom (long)motor mount bolt fell out onto the ice:wondering after limping it home to make the nessasary repairs, things went from bad to worse.I discovered that the front 2 aluminum mounts were both broken in half, the exhaust was cracked near the cylinder, now realizing why the chain came off i started to look for damge that may have occured near the chain de-railment area, motor cases looked fine thought idodged a bullet.....not so lucky the chain had literally "chainsaw'd" almost compltely through the lower frame rail:cry: so there you have it,after cutting out and relaceing the damaged frame rail,i decided to almost overbuild the rest of it,with alittle luck and a gallon of red lock tite;)she'll be better that before.i plan on getting back out on the lake this weekend and rinr-ing it out agian ill post with my results

Ouch.... Nice PC mounts though. I would maybe go find some urethane block and make a way to mount it under your chain or possibly relocate the lower chain roller?

Did you use the kx 500 stock kick starter? any problem with the rear fender on?

yes it is the KX5 kicker,it took some heat and a few bends, but it clears the rear plastic fine
