Is there a electric starter kit for a 1985 honda 200x

pretty sure there's not. i have never seen one. i dont see how it would hook up to the flywheel or any starting gear, and have a one way clutch and etc....theres way to much for a kit. now a far out mod for a machinist i could see it happening. thats bout it.
why? kick start not workin out for ya?

i know how that is, i have a leg disability and i couldn't get a past 350x started, very frustrating. but umm make sure your decompression lever for your 200 is working, (its automatic but could be broke) if its broke that would explain why and would probably make it easy enuff to start if it was broke.

There is no decompression system on the 200x. You need to find the sweet spot on your engine. On mine, I do one full slow motion kick, then let it return about halfway and go slow motion all the way down again. I then let it return all the way to the top and this is when I kick it hard and it starts right up.

It looks like a Goki on this one:

2 Honda Atc's 250R and 200X - $1200 (Monrovia, CA) (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/mcy/1594134209.html)

the lifan motors have electric start .. cost wouldn't be bad if you sold your motor

I bring mine up to TDC before kicking it. And put a little pressure on the kicker so it doesn't slip.

Would a 200E motor work in a 200X, other than figuring out a new way to mount the rear brake. Mine doesn't like to start after I shut it off and it is between hot and cold. Would really like e-start sometimes. Especially since our kicker gears aren't available anymore.

I asked this same question, well almost. I asked if the 200m would work. It will bolt in but the starter hits the frame in the front (Down tube?). You would have to notch the frame where the starter hits. I plan to do this if I can ever find a roller 200x 83/85 :( . There was also a thread if I remeber correctly where they where trying to put a M (maybe es, not sure) and X cases together to get Electric Start, Kick Start and Pull start. I can't find the thread on it but they ideas was awesome. Don't know if anything ever came of it though. I have 2 M's and an X to deal this mod, if they ever got it to work :)

EDIT: Here is the Thread to the slpit cases: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?103769-6-speed-200m&highlight=kick+start+m

Goki discontinued the starters for the 200x. The only way to find one is either used or someplace has one laying on the shelves new that never sold. I don't know what the issue was, maybe they just didn't sell enough. You can still get them for the 350x though. Mr. RPM you can still get them for the 350x, so don't give up hope.

if a pull start would work for you you could also put a 185/200s motor right in there

For a about $100 more you can get a BRAND NEW, LIFAN 200. Electric start. Can't beat that. But I understand if you don't wanna go that route.
I would tho.
