Are the hotrods decent? Or should I just spend the extra money and order factory parts to rebuild my crank. I need the rod and all.

I have never heard anything wrong with the Hotrods. I would go for the Hotrods, but thats just my opinion and choice

OEM is your best bet......but its your choice!

Ive had a hot rod in my t3 for about 3 to 4 years . Its held up well. I just bought another last weekend for my next build. I still feel oem is the way to go. I just didnt have time to wait for 1. Good luck

I've had a HotRods rod in my R for years without a problem. Its on the stock crank though.

With OEM stuff lasting 25yrs., it's hard to justify anything else.

But, as time goes by, aftermarket will be the only choice. If it holds up for other guys that are beating on them as much as they did with the stocker, then I wouldn't be afraid to give it a whirl.

Installation of main bearings/rods and the cases is half the battle. Nothing can stand up to poor technique......

I've not yet hear anything bad about Hot Rods.

I agree that if OEM lasts that long its great stuff but the price of an OEM crank and rod is prohibitive, even for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to spend some coin on their ride.
