I just bought a 1983 ATC 11o and its leaking oil from the LO HI gear selector lever, does anyone know a way to stop this? Can't bring it inside to work on it til its house trained.

It is leaking from one of two places - 1- there is a rubber o-ring seal where the shaft comes out that the lever is hooked to
or
2 - the actual covering case is leaking - you can make a new seal from a manila envelope by tracing the case once you have it off.

Could be from the front sprocket area to . Might need to clean it up a little and find out were its leaking from . Lots of potential spots in that area .

Shortline is correct.
The 90/110's can throw a chain and crack the centre case thru into the breather gallery and leak or punch a hole to the engine internals and leak worse.
You may have to remove the entire sidecase for an inspection. I have never seen them leak around the lever.

Yeah, I was trying to picture a seal for the shift lever, and I don't think there is one. I could be wrong, but I think that if it's leaking there, you'll need a whole new cover assembly. Otherwise, it may just be leaking at the gasket.

I had to take the cover off my sub-trans because the shifter seized up. I scraped the old gasket off and sealed it back up with red RTV silicon. No leaks.
There is a rubber O-ring on the shift lever shaft. I would check that out also.

I didn't know that there was an o-ring there. It only makes sense. I'll need to remember that during reassembly of my 125m engine!

I never knew that where was an o-ring on the shift shaft either. I took it apart, put a new one in and now the leak stopped. Thanks guys, you're much more helpful than the Honda dealership around here.
