Here is the starting to my project kxt..I bought this a few weeks back and now starting to go thru with it.the frame and misc pieces and going to get blasted and power coated.. 1ST off should i redo it back to the original silver because i kind of like looks of it being white???? should a 87 be put back to stock?? because i have some cool aftermarket goodies.i could go either ways with this project.. stay tuned over the next couple of weeks...

here is the donor for the" goodies".calfab swinger,, JP airbox,, bills pipe etc... ... i would swap the parts from one to the other but keeping my 86 complete still..http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r288/viper115/Scot_007.jpghttp://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r288/viper115/Scot_008.jpg

My opinion?? Keep the frame original silver. Find all the parts you can that make it '87 original and tuck them away. Then build it up. You can always swap the custom parts for the OEM parts and vice versa.

Do you have a closer foto of the parking brake cable? I want to see where it come from the front till the parking brake. In my 87kxt the cable was missing

Build one to look at if that is your fortay' and have another one to ride the mess out of...as there is no way to have a tecate and not ride it hehe.

Looks really nice. I see no reason to not build it the way you like it as long as you don't do any irreversible things like cut stuff off the frame. I wish I had that Bill's pipe and I could sure use a good picture of that CalFab sticker so I can have some made for my CalFab arm on my T3.

Where can I find a radiator overflow bottle for my 86 tecate?

That's the million dollar question. They are very difficult to find anymore and not available from Kawie. Keep an eye on ebay and be prepared to pay if you want it. I would just try to find a overflow from another ATV that fits or maybe even make one.

Where did you get the fork boots? Ive been trying to get a set for my ATC and cannot find the ttype with narrow accordion type, only wide type, and those bend a bit because they are so heavy duty.

For fork boots. I will bet they came from ebay. Grimcycles was selling them. They are still on ebay.
They are like these only in blue. Contact them.
