How does a slide choke work on a carburator? I know how a butterfly etc. works, but how does a carb with the little round slide in the side of it work, changing air fuel mixture or what. Just wondering, Thanks

The slide lifts the needle up as you push the throttle and it allows more fuel to pass through the main jet.

Both work the same. The choke, any type when closed creates more vacum in the carb which in turn richens the air/fuel miture making it more explosive and or igniteable. The slide moves up which chokes off more air versus the typical plate closing on the normal choke. There are air passages on slide choke vs. wide open throat intake on butterfly type. Hope this helped.........
