I'm doing something not to all uncommon but at the same time it sure can be alot of fun if you can keep up with it all at the same time.I'm in the process of Restoring 4 machine's all at the same time and so far so good.Anyway's here's the 1973 ATC KO 70 that I'm actually assembling in my office and i'm just starting assembly on.I posted the machine in a few pic's here and there before and have had it for a couple year's now,but she's in the assembly stage and i thought I'd throw some pic's up for ya all to check out.I had a ton of pic's before on the teardown and better close-up's but my computer crashed and stupid me never copied anything to CD nor did I have a back-up but i have been finding a few pic's nere and there, but anyway Blah,Blah ,Blah...

The pic up top is a few year's ago when I 1st got it,it ran but smoke'd and the clutch was slipping. The motor's on the bench now but the chasis is coming together.I also see that a few of you other guy's are doing up the '73 and '74 for winter project's.Alot of stuff is different,we'll lol,not much is the same actually.

I know i got pretty lucky for the fact that I still had a really nice guard on the rear of the frame, mostly the one's iv'e been seeing have been all smashed up or gone altogether.

Here's acouple more pic's I can post uphttp://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/DSC00327.jpg ,this pic show's the wheel's all ceaned up and just getting ready to have the assembly all put together.Trying to use the oem Outshu's if all goes well.and if ya can see I also had to use anothe set of front fork's,the other's had the chopper thing going on with 'em from getting beat hardcore plus i had to straighten the backbone on the frame. It was the old problem of the front fender hitting the motor issue, but I'm golden now.Got lucky with the nice backbar on this machine too,it did'nt have road rash or nothing.http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/DSC00328.jpg. I also threw up a pic of one of my other project's for when I get bored with nothing too do.It's pretty much complete less the top-end and the tank is hit but it's a worthy candidate.Ya know the only bummer on restoring these is getting rid of 'em.LOL.I guess I can't keep em' all.http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/100_7904.jpg

Well like I stated I got a few restore's going on but I'll keep updating when I get more done, but I'd sure like to see your all '73 -'74 Restore's that your working on .Hublake how's progress going on your '73 ? Everybody finding part's OK,I need the bottom chain cover /guard that's located on the bottom left lower side by the countersprocket if anyone's got one they'd like to part with.Post more as time allow's.http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo64/sandpuppi101/100_7906.jpg

It looks great. I have to say I love the old school look to the 73-74 atc 70's. There is a guy named peewee on .org that sells all of the resto stickers for these old girls. But you probably have that covered. Looks great..

Keep the pictures coming. I'd love to get a '73 someday. I love the tank shape and the flamed logo. I would also love it just have to display next to my car at shows being the same year and all.

Here are a few pictures. Right now I have to have two stripped out holes on the bottom of the case where the footpegs bolt to helicoiled. Having a guy make me a new grab bar and also in need of better seat. or at least some new foam that I can recover. I did pick up that cover that goes on the left side. Have the motor done, just need to be painted. A few other minor things like cables and it will be ready to go.

the seat foam is the same as a Z50 68-70 K1 style and so is the cover (wrong grain but close), but the pan is different.

That's funny how there's 3 of us doing them and just on this forum ,they both look good Mike and Lloyd.I have the OEM cable's but I prolly should get some new one's so I'll prolly be getting ahold of you Mike.I'll be posting up more pic's as I progress.

Make it four.I am going to start a 73 ATC 70 myself.Right now just looking for parts and deciding exactly what I am doing with it.It will look stock except bigger motor and aluminum wheels.Might put suspension on the front.Other than that paint will be factory.
