TRX200sx (86-88) motor in 200s? Wanting reverse.

I just picked up a 200s for $100 in rough shape. Fixed some wiring issues, rebuilt the carb (still iin a dip right now), and it runs.

I may keep it not for parts, but for a main bike. The frame is decent, and has a trailer hitch. However, I want a yard machine that has reverse with a trailer hitch. I'd rather not sell my bikes and buy another....

I have a spare 88 trx200sx quad motor. It's chain driven + reverse. Carb is the same, motor seems pretty similar.

Would this be a feasible project? Anyone done it? Seems simple enough, and would get me the desired results.

Edit - I also have a spare rear end from a trx200sx. Would the axle and tires fit onto a 185s atc?

Any luck on the rear axle with tires? I have a complete rear end, looks like the axle is the same or very similar.

I'm gonna drop the guy a line and see if he still has it and get some pics. He's not a member on this site...I don't think the hillbilly knows what a computer is but the old man can build some cool things.

Cool, thanks a lot. This seems to work out perfect, considering I have almost a full second motor (just need pullstarter) and some elec. parts.

No rush on it, going to fix and ride the 200s and 185s before swapping one with the trx motor. Also need to rewire my quad to get spark before using the spare motor.
