Does any one have diagrams, specs, techniques, advise or warnings for trying to change the rings on my 85 200ern? This will be the first time tearing into a Yamaha engine. This will be foreign to me the whole deal. Any help here, cuz man I need it. I'm stuck riding the ol ladies 110, which just don't cut it! I have the clymer, it just don't really get into that deep!

Have u done a compression check? Are you going to hone cyl? Check lobes that the cam ride in/on. New camchain while your in there and seals. thats a start. Take pics as you work...Beets

Well no compression tester untill later today. If and when I am trying to start the bike, I put my hand over the exhaust. I can feel it sucking in. Is this normal? Or is this my problem? I'm kind of scared to try and do this ring thing after reading this manual. This looks to be a bit beyond me!

Ii bet if you put an exhaust on there that doesnt suck in it will run like new. Try that and let me know how its works out for you.

Hey "Budz" peeps.
Both of you need to cool your jets.

Take a minute and read the rules of this forum and learn some lessons.
They will be much easier to read, than for me to teach you lessons.

Thanks Harry! Rick went to get a compression tester. He thinks it his carburetor adjustment, the idle screw, I think he said. Can't seem to get it right or don't where to start. Something like that! I know he will figure it out. He is relentless when stumped!
