Is it just me, or does every three wheeler seem to have or have already had a broken pull starter? (Yes you can argue that they're old, and that owners don't know how to rewind them, but it seems very common)
Is this a common problem/is there a solution?
Also, are all honda pawls the same? I am missing one from my 200s.
And the springs on these - I got one that is out of the cover. Do people usually just buy a new one or attempt to put it back in?
Thanks

do a search there was just a post up on rewinding that spring. I just oiled mine and it works like a charm. You can still get a rebuild kit. I scored a nos one for the wifes auto-x. good luck

Wouldn't need a rebuild kit entirely, just one of the three pawls and the spring. I was planning on trying to put in back in, just not sure if the pawls are universal.

That's what it boils down to. The rope gets brittle and breaks.

I've had new rope break. It was slightly thinner rope, but did not break at the knot or the handle.
Any any idea on the pawl?
