Sorry guys, just new to me. So what do I actually set the valves to??? With a Honda, you set it to 0.003, and that is the valve spec...BUT with the Yamaha spec, it say from 0.002~0.004. Should I set it in the middle, or at one extreme?
Thanks kindly!

Thanks tips...I did read the manual, that is where the photo in my first post came from...
My question is what to set it at. In a Honda manuals it says to set it at a certain number, with the Yamaha it says that you can set it within a range...my question is where in the range people are setting it. I've never owned a Yamaha before.
According to the 83 owners manual, it say that valves get looser over time...would it perhaps be better to set the valves on the tighter side of the clearances, that way with wear they will approach the higher end of the adjustment limit?

Thank you for your advice MonroeMike, and for reading my post. I think it may be better to set it at 0.002 and 0.0043 though, only after reading the owners manual. What do you think?

In the manual it also says to set it within a range, not one set number. The reason for this post was to find out what to set my valves at, as it does not say black/white one number, it gives a range. The difference between 0.002 and 0.004 is big...or at least it is with a Honda. Perhaps it is not so important with a Yamaha. I might just go in the middle of the range...
Thanks all for the kind advice,

Just a personal preference, I'd rather not burn a valve.
I'm sure it will be fine, within those specs.
